Priya is starting to walk, but finds that since crawling still takes her to her desired destination faster, she dives for the ground after 5 or 6 steps. I was recently assured that a vast majority of the human population is indeed bipedal, so I shouldn't be too concerned.

Very true that crawling gets you there faster, but wait Priya you'll learn to run and then forget all about it.

Crawling will only get her there faster for a short while.
Then, once walking is faster, she will ditch crawling and there will be times that you wish she would go back to just crawling! hehe.

Does she try to crawl on the concrete? Addy tried that for a little while and I would just cringe... but she hated (and still strongly dislikes) the grass so she made do.
priya crawls on concrete, but gets all scraped up, and we feel the same as you. on the other hand, she doesn't seem to mind grass all that much - i mean she doesn't love it, but she doesn't quite hate it either.
