I had a busy work week, but I'm glad it's over. I finally decided on the Canon SD700 IS, which came in the mail a couple of days ago. Last night I just snapped off a few pictures without looking too closely at the settings. The one reason why I wanted a new camera is fulfilled by this camera - small shutter lag. With our old Sony, by the time the camera actually took the picture, the moment was already long gone.

Bipin, glad you're back in town.
Here's to many-many, better-better pictures! Good choice.
Nice to see you back! And really nice pics too.
the pics look great - hope its all you were hoping for!
so, are you happy with the Cannon camera? we have the SD 600 - and we're using the video so often on that, because the quality is outstanding! it helps we got a 2GB card for $25 the day after thanksgiving!
david.
so far i like the camera for the fast startup time and small shutter lag. the colors that show up in the final picture aren't night and day different from my six year old sony. also the video quality is good - but that's because the video is shot in uncompressed avi format (rather than mpg). so you *have* to have a large memory card if you're going to shoot any video.
