Commutes in Darkness

Aahhh.. it's that time of the year again. I will leave for work in pitch black, and get home under the same conditions. One would think we live in the poles. So much for daylight savings when I don't get to see any of it. Well, it's not like I can't look out a window, but you know what I mean.

We were gone over Friday and Saturday for a leaders' retreat. Christy was kind enough to watch Priya while we were gone. The two had a great time together.

Priya has been acting really weird the last day or so. She's either really clingy, really whiny, or really defiant. Last night she threw the biggest fit to date. She was throwing herself around on the floor being completely hysterical. It was one of those moments where I had to look away and count to 10 - she was making me so mad. In the back of my mind I was thinking how I should be taking a video of this - but parental priorities won out.

The lone tree in our front yard is half way through it's fall shedding. So I will have one more major raking coming up. In the meantime, Priya raked up most of the leaves that were there presently.

Manual labor is tiring

Tish's second attempt in seven years at making Indian food. It turned out pretty good.

They were both horrified at how they looked. I don't get it - they look cute!

Hey, great idea, I'm going to bring Addy out to do our yard work tomorrow!

No offense Bipin but I really don't like Indian food. I've tried it twice and got sick both times!! Maybe its the place I'm eating it from? One place was Tandor.

Adeline has also been defiant - as you probably read about on the blog. :) Ahh, the joys of parenting!

The picture of Priya and Skylar is funny... they definitely don't look happy!!

Priya and Addy liked each other today in the nursery. They were laughing together and enjoyed swinging next to each other. It was cute. Tish & I are going to have to get them some time together.

I also figured out why Addy has a good five pounds on Addy. Priya LICKED her doughnut the entire time she was in the nursery and Addy ate three of them. No licking whatsoever. :)

This should be an e-mail its so long!

Yes, our 3 HUGE trees in the front have dumped enough leaves to cover our whole front yard. I let Ryan buy a blower.
Yummy, I LOVE Indian food. I did not really care too much for Tandor. We had some good places in Memphis though.
Love the pig tails!

If you are really bored and feel the need to rake, come on over! and bring Priya we could use the extra help! We only have tons and tons of leaves falling!

Yeah, I ate there in July. I had the Chicken Curry and Nan Bread. The bread was over baked and it seemed like they used chicken scraps with the curry. Maybe the cook was just having a bad day.

I am too much of a wimp for Indian food. I tried at an indian wedding once, I figured I could eat a little bit of meat and down it with rice, then I won't burn up...ha ha. It was tasty though.

Ah yes those defiant children, sometimes I just want to run out the room because I am going to burst into laughter, and other times they can "drive me nuts" as Connor has so nicely reminded me over and over...!!!

I have to watch myself because I tend to be very acidly sarcastic when people are acting immature or otherwise annoying me. Sometimes, unfortunately, I find myself making mean fun of Cora when she's throwing a fit. While it actually does stop her, because she knows I am less than impressed and making fun of her, it's sending TOTALLY the wrong messages, isn't it? I need to be hurt and stern at the same time when she starts throwing things and trying to hit me. I need to show her that her actions can hurt others, and the way to solve problems is not to out-hurt the other person, which is what I usually do.

Lunch with all of us was nice on Sunday...we will have to do that again in the future. Did you both enjoy your afternoon off together??
