Early Morning Thoughts

  • I find it amusing that my last post was so depressing that I didn't even get one comment on it. Still no word on Jill, by the way.
  • It's 7 in the morning, and I've been at work for a half hour already. Most people don't start filtering in till 8, so I don't have a lot of conversations till then. Does talking to yourself count?
  • Here are the two pieces of software I stare at most of the day. Don't they look important and exciting? :-)
  • Ok. Not as exciting as pictures of Priya. I saw some new ones in the digital camera last night, but forgot to upload them. So stay tuned.
  • Priya is definitely developing a very willful side. She also knows when something must not be done. This comes out most often with pulling out books from bookshelves, or playing with cables in electrical sockets. Before reaching for them, she will look back and see if we are watching. When we say "No", she will hesitate, and then reach out anyway. Tish does a good job of disciplining her by flicking on her fingers and saying "No". One of the funniest things is when Priya is almost done eating, and she tries to tear her bib off. She does it once, you say no. She does it again, you say no with a flick. Then the third time, her hand starts to move towards the bib. You pre-empt it and say no - she then just lightly touches the bib and starts to stroke it - pretending she never meant to yank on it anyway. It's hilarious when you actually see it happen.
  • I have been asked to make a presentation at our worldwide sales meeting in Germany in May. I guess that means I'm off to Germany again for a week. Let me know if you want to see the presentation when it's done. Haha.

The sun has already passed over you.
Darkness has descended over Jill. We hope for her.

Your “Early Morning Thoughts are interesting.

We would be happy to publish your thoughts, from time to time, here on our Blog.

With your permission we will do so.

Yea for frequent flyer miles! How in the world do you get up early enough to be at work by 6:30 a.m.?!?!?! Oh, how I wish I was more of a morning person!

I'm so NOT a morning person either.

I'm not surprised to hear that Priya is so strong willed. Bullies usually are! Hehe.... just kidding

Addy is in the same boat. Disciplining is a full time job!! We've transitioned from even giving a warning to an instant flick if she even REACHES for the electrical outlets/cords or computer/stereo. She knows, without a doubt, that she is not allowed to touch them. Her new manipulative, defiant behavior is for that we say "No" to her she turns and looks at us, smiles really big and shakes her head no... then, while smiling at us goes ahead and does what we said no to! What a little bugger. (She also does the bib thing)

One last thing... the other day at my grandparents house she went to go up the stairs and I quickly said No. She looked at me as I got out of my chair, looked at the stairs, back at me and then went as fast as she could toward the stairs, as if she could beat me (and did!)!!

Oh, the fun begins now!

Hey Bipin, i like your early morning musings ... sorry, i never got to see the Jill post until i saw this one ... so, though it's depressing ... isn't war always like that?

I get the chills when i see the 18 year old boys enlist and go and fight in a war - that's 16 years away from Connor's age ... sounds terribly painful to lose your child in a war.

I just laughed when you mentioned about Pryia knowing the difference between right and wrong. Sounds so familiar!

Now is when the fun begins with Priya! Isnt it amazing how quickly that Adam (Eve) nature shows through? You just never have to teach them to be defiant... it comes so naturally! We are in the throes of training with Dominique, too. :)
